Microsoft has completed the rollout of the latest update for its operating system Windows 10 October 2020 Update (20H2), which was announced by several sources. At the moment, all the developers’ attention is focused on creating a new update, which, in addition to new functions, will have serious changes in the design and interface of the OS.
As reported by the resource WindowsLatest, this year we should expect 2 major mandatory updates. We are talking about packages 21H1 and 21H2, the last of which will bring significant changes. According to the source, Microsoft is going to improve the user interface of the Start menu, File Explorer, taskbar, and more.
The first part will not contain major changes. It is going to consist of internal improvements that will be aimed at improving system stability, security, and fixing known issues.
New features, as well as changes in the design and interface of Windows 10, will be delivered to users along with the second package 21H2, which is scheduled to launch in the second half of the year.
The source says the major update is being codenamed Sun Valley and Microsoft plans to release a candidate for the new version of Windows 10 in June this year.
However, this does not mean that the distribution of the update will begin in the summer. Most likely, Microsoft will make the 21H2 update available to a wide range of users only in October or November of this year, as it usually happens. Moreover, the update will be first available only to members of the Windows Insider program.
