How to make Skype translate on the go?
Skype makes communication easier.
Well-known voice and chat service Skype finally completed to deploy its Translator service making it available for all Windows users. As it is clear from the name, this service provides interpretation of speech voice during voice calls, as well as the translation of instant messages. Yes, it is not as precise and fluent in some cases, but anyways, it helps to understand the message that the person you are talking to tries to deliver, which is a great step forward in overcoming geographic and language barriers.
To use the feature in Skype, just click on a globe icon in the top right corner of the chat window, as on screenshot, choose the languages and enjoy conversation.
Voice-to-voice translation is available in 7 languages so far – English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Chinese. Text message translation operates with about 40 different languages including English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Spanish.
According to stats, the most popular language pair is English-French and vice versa. Number of calls also increased four times since launch of the feature.
Skype Translator function is present in the latest version of Skype for Windows (7.14.85.106).
